SHUTTLEWORTH MEAD BUSINESS PARK

The high quality and excellent location of this prime development site has proven to be very popular with some of the areas most successful companies and has resulted in several multi-million pound investments. The site provides state-of-the-art buildings in an attractive rural environment yet with easy access to the motorway network. A diverse range of companies are choosing Shuttleworth Mead as the place to be for their new developments, including one of the fastest growing Internet Service Providers (ISP's) in the UK.

Strategic Designs
Developers, Ribble Industrial Estates Ltd, launched a competition in summer 2000, asking members of the public to submit their designs for an artwork scheme to enhance the 73 acre Business Park.

With over 20 acres of the Business Park dedicated to sustainable greenery, the launch of this public artwork competition was another step in the development of a pleasant and stimulating location for occupiers, their employees and the local community.

Managing Director, Ken Ingham, said, "This is an excellent opportunity for someone to make their mark in the local community. We aren't just looking for a one-off piece of artwork but a more strategic design concept that covers the whole Business Park. It is important to portray the Park as a modern and prestigious business location with a quality environment as befits the new century.

The winner, to be announced in Spring 2001, will receive £2000 prize money, and will see their designs become a reality within two to three years. The Business Park has been financially assisted through English partnerships, Burnley's Challenge Fund and the European Regional Development Fund.
